8. EDGE OF TOWN

I never could explain this need for pain
Been walking on razorblades but I can't complain
So I took the ruined road to the edge of town
Then I heard the seventh bell and the sun went down

There was a preacher-man who was there as I cried
We looked 'cross that stony field at the souls who died
That church was a build of green from the trees that leaned
It soon won't be visible - let the ivy gleam

Sometimes I think my life is swell
The sun of the east - clang of the morning bell
Well, maybe on my dying day I will say:
It was worth the pain

I never could explain this need for pain
Been walking on razorblades but I can't complain
Words of no use to me hide inside my mind
I stood at the edge of town and I said goodbye

Sometimes I think my life is Hell
The Son of the Beast - clang of the warning bell
Well, maybe on my dying day they will say:
It was worth the pain

Words of no use to me hide inside my mind
I stood at the edge of town and I said goodbye
